Originally from Manchester, Eleanor has been a keen choral singer since primary school age, performing at many prestigious venues and concerts.
As part of the Halle Youth Choir Eleanor has sung at many prestigious venues, mostly notably the Albert Hall in the BBC proms in 2009, and also alongside many famous stars including the band ‘Elbow’ on Comic Relief and Later with…Jool’s Holland . She also appears on Elbow’s latest album. The choir toured Italy, in 2011 and amongst other concerts, sang mass in St Mark’s Basilica in 2010.
Eleanor was also a member of the National Youth Training Choir between 2009 and 2010, performing in Coventry and Wells Cathedrals. Eleanor has been a regular competitor at Music festivals in the North West, winning many prizes . In March 2011 she won the rose bowl for the best overall vocal performance at the Heaton Mersey Music Festival.
Eleanor frequently returns to Manchester as she is still involved in coaching and conducting the children’s choir she sang in as a child. She also regularly provides one to one teaching to members of the choir with solo pieces.
Eleanor is currently studying for her BMus at King’s College London. She first studied vocal performance under the tutorage of Lucy Knight (nee Fussell) BMus(Hons), RNCM , and later, between 2009 and 2011, at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music where she also studied piano, composition and musical theory.
Her singing tutor at the RNCM was the Handel and Baroque specialist, soprano Diana Palmerston whose has sung at Concert Halls and Cathedrals throughout Europe, as well as the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells.
Her vocal studies are now taking place at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor Ryland Davies*
